Ava is 3!

My little girl turned 3 on August 17. We had a small, but totally awesome party for her. I say totally awesome because I planned it. I'm not sure why, but I have been thinking of her as three for some time now so it didn't seem like a shock. I then had one of those awareness moments (which come along about every 6 months) and realized I have two kids who are almost 1 and 3 years old, and I've been married 4 years! It shouldn't surprise me because I've lived every day of it, but somehow it still sneaks up on me.
So here are the pics from the party excitement.

I find it quite funny that Ava got princess dress up clothes, nerf dart guns, and a rubber band shot gun as well. Between Todd and I, my parents, and his parents, Ava is going to be the most well rounded child ever. She is exposed to so many different things. She loved all of her gifts equally. That' my girl!

To add to the fun, I put together a treasure hunt for Ava's presents. She loves Dora so while we were eating dinner, Swiper the Fox took her presents and hid them! Ava was very concerned when she found this out. Once she realized there were clues to follow she seemed a little less bothered. It was really fun to watch her and the other kids figure out where to go next and get excited about helping Dora and Boots. Ava (being the planner she is) asked me when she went to bed that night, if Swiper could come again sometime when she has a birthday and leave clues to find her presents. It seems this might become a tradition.
